SS21 'Never Not Enough' Now Online
Maiden Noir's Spring/Summer 21 collection entitled ‘Never Not Enough’ looks at how we can give back through progress and process rather than do more harm. When is enough finally enough? Can the Earth handle more? Can we handle more?
On May 8th, 1980 as magma from deep within the earth’s crust pushed upward into the volcano, Mount St. Helens 'had enough' which led to a massive eruption devastating 229 square miles into wasteland, the size of an average city. Maybe this was Mother Nature’s way of speaking to us back then?
As the world has slowed down this past year due to the pandemic, nature has reminded us of the things we value even more. A time to re-evaluate ourselves, our industries, our belongings. A time to slow down and take stock of our surroundings. For this season we wanted to stand by this principle and create garments that will grow in personal value and be cherished with age. Can it be passed down to future generations? Will our perspectives resonate with others to invest in our values to put nature back in balance vs the old concept of quantity over quality.

For S/S21 we are adhering to our design principles by starting with quality fabrics sourced from Japan or the US, using dead stock or surplus fabrics, organic cotton, up-cycled previous season fabrics, reduce what we produce, using environmentally-friendly dyes, and celebrating everybody. The silhouettes within the collection are relaxed and layered with seasonal textile prints creating rich textures with universal fits. The vibrant tones found within the natural dyes are grounded with hints of earth tones and black to give balance and complexity to the collection.
The collection is now available at our stockists worldwide, in-store and online at maidennoir.com. The re-opening of the Maiden Noir showroom/shop at the DaDaDa Gallery is on Thursday March 25th, 2021 to debut the entire collection for the season by appointment only.
